Liberation Workshops are designed to create a bridge between therapeutic and transformational space, offering a unique opportunity for deep personal growth and healing.

These workshops are typically a week-long immersive experience, providing participants with the time and space to focus solely on the content being explored without the distractions of daily life.

Unlike traditional talk therapy, Liberation Workshops go beyond verbal processing to engage the physical body and senses, allowing participants to integrate the work as a fully lived experience. This somatic approach fosters a deeper connection to oneself, helping to uncover and address patterns, beliefs, and emotions that are often stored in the body.

These workshops are a blend of evidence-based tools, experiential exercises, and transformative teachings, designed to create a holistic and comprehensive approach to healing and self-discovery. Each component is intentionally crafted to support participants in accessing and processing their emotions, developing new perspectives, and cultivating a sense of empowerment and liberation.

Through this integrative approach, Liberation Workshops aim to help individuals break through personal barriers, release stored trauma, and reconnect with their authentic selves. Participants leave with not only a deeper understanding of themselves but also practical tools and insights they can carry forward into their daily lives.

A significant benefit of doing this work in a group setting is the power of collective healing. Sharing the journey with others fosters connection, empathy, and mutual support, creating a sense of community that enhances individual growth. In this shared space, participants often realize they are not alone in their struggles, which can reduce feelings of isolation and build resilience. The collective energy and shared intention of the group amplify the impact of the work, creating a powerful “field” where transformation becomes more accessible. This shared growth not only benefits each individual but also ripples outward, inspiring positive change in families, communities, and beyond.

Trauma Informed

A trauma-informed workshop is a learning or training experience designed to acknowledge, understand, and respond to the potential impacts of trauma on participants. It is structured to create a safe, supportive, and empowering environment that minimizes the risk of re-traumatization while promoting healing, learning, and growth.

The Liberation workshops are all trauma informed. Dr. Ellis is a doctorate level psychologist that designed these workshops to support the fluctuations of the nervous system. An emphasized part of the workshop culture is tracking and moving with the nervous system, not overriding it. There is a thorough registration process to assess any mental health concerns. At the start the workshop the agreements for the field are discussed openly and participants can request the agreements prior to the workshop. Safety is paramount in designing and maintaining the workshop cohesion. Another emphasized part the workshop is having as many choice points as possible and empowering people to choose what is best for them each step of the way. Before every exercise and immersive experience, the participants choose anonymously the level of intensity at which they would like to participate 1) observing participation, 2) moderate level of participation, 3) fully resourced level of participation. Participants can take a break if needed during the workshop. There is a two month aftercare program to support participants in integrating the workshop content into their daily lives.

Key principles of a trauma-informed workshop include:

  1. Safety: Ensuring physical, emotional, and psychological safety for all participants.
  2. Trustworthiness and Transparency: Clear communication and consistent practices to build trust.
  3. Collaboration and Mutuality: Emphasizing shared power and decision-making between facilitators and participants.
  4. Empowerment: Focusing on strengths and fostering participants’ sense of agency and resilience.
  5. Cultural Humility: Recognizing and respecting the diverse backgrounds and experiences of participants, including how trauma may manifest differently across cultures.
  6. Understanding Trauma: Recognizing the prevalence and impact of trauma, and ensuring workshop content and delivery do not inadvertently trigger distress.

Liberation workshops have been trauma informed since 2023 and will continue to be fully trauma informed. Workshops conducted by Liberation workshops prior to this were not fully trauma informed.

Workshops Format

What is the format?

The exercises are hands on activities, role-playing, scenarios, and games designed to engage individuals in actively exploring past experiences through creative expression.

The lessons in this workshop are comprehensive and very applicable to life challenges. Lessons are designed to ensure participants deeply understand and engage with the material in a meaningful way.

The immersive experiences are practices with deeper intention and time allocation. These experiences are body centered, introspective, challenged personal narratives, prompt self reflection, utilize creative expression, explore subconscious patterns, confront deeply held beliefs, and facilitate emotional engagement.

You will learn evidence based tools that are practiced daily and throughout the aftercare program. These tools aid in deprogramming the nervous system of outdated beliefs and support your nervous system for optimal integration.
